Sawako: Broadcasts live from Apple Island

The request to host „Sawako in Apple Island“ came as a total surprise to Sawako. She still feels ambivalent about the idea: „As some of you know, I am not an i-chat person, nor video chat, nor second life. Sometime I refuse to pick up my phone“, she said, „But I am also a person who likes to try something I don’t like - it is like a research experiment using my real life. I have enough curiosity to jump on an offer coming from a different context than my own.“ Her first impressions of the service are not 100% positive either, but she is willing to ignore them for the startup phase, trying to remain professional: „ I think I will do my everyday broadcasting as my work, ignoring what happens there.“

Of course, the show is not intended to be a substitute for her musical activities nor as a digital place of refuge. Instead, it tries to use contemporary technology to bring worthwhile artists together, as Sawako pointed out: „I hope my broadcasting turns into a community for artists (and non artists), into a bridge between the real world body temperature and the easy to access online information world.“
