Review/ Khazad-Dhum: "Human breeds evil"

Khazad Dhum are one of these rare black metal bands who have their name included in the famous ''Book Of The Best 666 Black Metal-Bands"; so you can be quit sure that they don't belong to the hordes of black metal posers but to the real, early nineties black metal demons.

For whose who are wondering, the name ''Khazad Dhum'' is taken from "The Lord Of The Rings'' by J.R.R. Tolkien. Khazad Dhum are honest and powerful, playing an extreme & intelligent old school black metal. The sound is of course raw and typically “True Black Metal”; the guitars can sometimes sound too shrill but it reinforce this feeling of extreme oppression and hatred. Having said that, the music is not only aggressive but melodic too; Khazad Dhum bring you the depth of nothingness. Lyrics are primarily based on mankind and mortality – the group are screaming out their hatred against the human race.

With this recognisable blend, the approach and art of Khazad Dhum can't be compared to many other formations out there – with the exception maybe of Traumatic Voyage, another band from Volker´s artist roster on Merciless Records.
