The main motive on “Simplify” is the clash between darkly breathing waves of majestic delay and the simple forward thrust of polyrhythmically ornamented four to the floor beats. On opening tune “Solid”, Ray Kajioka builds a shakey momentum from a long-suspended introduction and constant stop and go - a track for the clubs. “Drown”, however, with its mellow and undulating staccato, lends itself perfectly to bedroom travelling. Both compositions seem like mere opener when the warm sequencer patterns of “Rise” kick in, equally close to trance as to the berlin school of music, yet without the complex harmonic shifts. Closer “Pulse” is a electroid house piece fuled by the spacey effects flowing from the decks of Ray Kajioka.
