Play it again, Steve

img
To only and alwys call him a "former Genesis-guitarist" would actually do his work no justice - even though he still plays some of the tracks from that period in his concerts. Steve Hackett left the band shortly before they really started making money and had nothing do to with Pop-smashs like "I can't walk". After a series of extremely varied albums, he released "A midsummer night's Dream" in 1997, a  Classical composition which put Hacketts Acoustic Guitar in the spotlight. The album was an instant success. Now, he is back again with "Metamorpheus", which takes a similar route: Baroque influences and Folk, sharp Waltzes and strange Boleros,  and all of this embedded into the story of Orpheus and Eurydice. At times touchingly sentimental, then again dark and brooding, this is a "must" for everyone who believes that music need not be "new" to be worthwhile.
