The Nodar Artist Residency places a select group of artists in a “rural mountain community of northern Portugal”, allowing them to establish contact with both their surroundings and the local population. Effectively, this means that music and videos created with the equipment at the disposal of participants and situated in a typical rural house, will act as a reflection of both the 21st century and its roots. Or, as Binaural put it: The results of the residency establish “an expressive interaction with the local landscapes and/or communities”.

Before the event at the Grão Vasco Museum in Viseu (a work of art in its own right), the videos were therefore presented on location first, allowing the inhabitants of Nodar to engage in a dialogue with the artists and find out about their respective reflections.

For those who will not be able to attend the presentation of the Nodar Residency: Artists like Christine Niehoff have already promised to upload some of the material to their site after the videos have been shown to the public.
