All events are part of the campaign for No Man’s widely acclaimed fifth album “Schoolyard Ghosts”, a diverse and atmospherically dense collection of pure love songs in a folk-style (“Streaming”), richly orchestrated soundscape pieces (“All Sweet Things”), aggressive Proto-Metal (“Pigeon Drummer”) and the cinematic psychedelics of pivotal twelve-minute epic “True North”. It has garnered the group comparisons as unlikely as The Smiths and as welcome as Japan or Talk Talk –imprecise as they may be nonetheless.

The inclusion of Fear Falls Burning for the two extra performances must come as a boon to all fans of Steve Wilson’s many sideprojects. Next to fronting No Man and Porcupine Tree, Wilson has after all explored his even more experimental side in outfits such as Bass Communion and Continuum. The latter is a studio duo with aforementioned Dirk Serries and constituted the starting point for a colourful relationship, which has already resulted in a collaborational effort for Serries’ “Once we all walk through solid Objects” LP Box set and the announcement of a FFB/Bass Communion special in Antwerpen later this year. For the No Man support show, meanwhile, Fear Falls Burning will focus on extracts from this year’s “Frenzy of the Absolute” album, a heavy forray into more proncounced Metal structures and percussive elements.

Until then, it might be an interesting detail that this gig will be the last for a while, as the band will retreat to the studio right afterwards – possibly picking up work for their soundtrack assignment for 'Weak Species', written and directed by Dan Faltz and based on the novel 'Closer' by Dennis Cooper.
