Nadine Schuster, whom some of you will know by her great piece on our free Download-CD, must be a happy and tired person. Behind her lies one of her busiest and at the same time most succesful years, firmly establishing her as one of the young pianists to watch in Germany. Inspired by modern and classical dance companies, she brought her program "Dancing through the Centuries" (German title: Tanz durch die Jahrhunderte) to anyone who would listen. Which was quite a few and her performances were praised by public and press alike. Then there was her second prize at the competition "Deutsches Lied", which she shared with her partner Ulrike Mayer, a Mezzosprano, who is turning into a small-scale star of her own. We should also mention Nadine's dedication towards the victims of the Asian tsunami. By teaming up with her long-time collaborator Nils Mönkemeyer and organising concerts, she collected a staggering 10.000 Euros, which will be made available directly to repair activities. And you can read all about her various journeys to the most distant countries, including Katmandu, which saw her retreat into silence for a few weeks, in her online-diary.
If you should be motivated to see this great talent live, then check out her web page or visit her with Nils at the "Winners and Masters"-series at the Gasteig in Munich on September 17th. From what we've heard behind the scenes, Nadine will also be hitting
the recording studio for a new album, more information to come soon. Even though this will not be a true CD-debut, it looks like she's slowly but surely edging towards a fully fledged career as a soloist and a chambermusic partner. As the year draws to a close, there is still lots to be done, but the hard work is starting to pay off.
