On a total of 21 tracks, some short soundscapes, other powerful, pulsating dance tracks of hypnotic intensity, „Neptune's Lair“, almost a decade after its first release, demonstrates why Drexciya were anything but a short-lived hype at their prime: Few other acts before or after them were capable of fusing the spirits of the two seemingly opposed worlds of carefully constructed headmusic and sweaty, physical clubtracks into a coherent unity. Aggressively pumping kick drums and acrid electro beats were juxtaposed with frostily floating pads and nervous, neuroactive two-tone melodies and then placed in between threedimensional alien ambient pieces with several layers of sound running in sync or against each other.
Drexciya's „Neptune's Lair“ is one of several reissues from Tresor, other albums include Christian Vogel's „The Never Engine“ and Octave One feat. Random Noise Generation's „Off The Grid“.
