On June 6th, the opening event will include a special live appearance by Ikeda, as well as a line-up of various other artists and DJs. Guests are asked to attend the concerts clad in black and white clothing, to fully integrate into the performance. One of Amsterdam's most well-known clubs, the Paradiso, will be home to this gala. Just one day later, „Silent Night“ takes the concept one step further: All light sources in Amsterdam (if possible) will be switched off for an even more impressive contrast of the installation's bright lights and the night sky. On the final evening, a free open air allows everyone who missed out on tickets for the two previous parties to become part of the festivities. At one of the installation's locations, Ikeda will premiere a new musical work, which will again include audience participation in some way or the other.
Should you want to check out what previous year's edition looked and sounded like, the DVD of Spencer Tunick's performance is available from the Dream Amsterdam webshop.
