Summer's approaching fast, but that doesn't mean you can't let down the curtains for a great Dark Ambient CD. French Label Cyclic Law would be first to agree, as they release Kammarheit's second Album entitled "The Starwheel". Hailing from Sweden, Kammarheit's "Asleep and well hidden" was one of the most consequential and persistent efforts of the Genre - and a well-received debut on top. "The Starwheel" could now well become his breakthrough - first samples suggest a more emotional approach, with atmospheres ranging from spiritual to spectral, from tense to timid. Even though melodies are still absent, "The Starwheel" suggests a most welcome variation to the usual themes of desolation and bleakness. With a length of just about three quarters of an hour, the album is surprisingly concise as well. Be quick to stake your claim, as the total number of CDs is limited to 1.000 copies.
